Let's Compare Stand Mixers!

When running a DIY blog that has a recipe category, it's kinda of a given that at some point a stand mixer is going to come up. But there are SO. MANY. BRANDS. and some are very expensive! So, it begs the question, which one do I get? Does paying more money really mean that I'm getting a better mixer? Keep reading to checkout my findings.

Endeavoring to buy a stand mixer was a "quest" type of journey I wasn't expecting. There were so many options to consider, and in your face marketing campaigns that try to draw your attention to features on each mixer that really mean nothing in terms of cost vs worth. And, should I even buy new one or get a used one Facebook Marketplace or something? (On FB people want to charge almost the price of a new one for an old/used mixer! So, that cleared that up, real quick.)

In the midst of my lurking around soaping and bath product groups when mixers come up in conversation, comparing endless amounts of store/seller listings; I wound up on Youtube. I started to get a clearer picture of what I would want in a mixer for food purposes, go figure. Then, I just recently came across this comparison video that did a nice amount of the testing for me!

So, let's get on with it.

A good stand mixer can cost you a  nice chunk of change. Make sure you choose the right one for your needs!

Watch this short video comparing some of the most widely known brands of stand mixers, and see which one is right for you.

In case you missed it, here are the top mixers overall according to the video...

I've also read pretty good things about the KitchenAid Artisan Design Stand Mixer 5QT. (Not covered in the video.) It costs more than the Classic Plus but less than the Pro Line.

Conclusion

After all this reviewing, I think I'm leaning towards the runner up, KitchenAid Classic Plus because of the price difference. But, then again, I'm really picky sometimes so I have to make my own bread+baked goods 98.99% of the time so it makes since to invest in a mixer than can handle it.

So, I'm gonna buy the Classic Plus, now, because that's what I can afford. Then I'll upgrade to the Pro Line, later. Even though it's clear that a higher price doesn't guarantee a better mixer. (But seriously, if I had the money, right now, I would just buy the Pro Line and be done with it instead of buying two mixers.)
